Join us for our annual Welcome the Whales Festival and Parade!
Each spring, a small group of gray whales, affectionately known as The Sounders, returns to Puget Sound to feed on ghost shrimp. Some of these amazing animals migrate up to 12,000 miles round trip every year! Please join us on April 12th and 13th to welcome them back.
April 11 - Whale & Marine Mammal Trivia Night
5:00 - 7:00 PM. Join us at Thirsty Crab Brewery in Clinton for an evening of fun, food, and friendly competition. The trivia will feature four rounds of engaging questions, a short intermission, and plenty of chances to win fun prizes, including homemade baked goods, Langley Whale Center merchandise, and even a ticket for our annual Welcome the Whales Boat Trip on Sunday, April 13. The boat trip is a special opportunity to see the returning Sounders gray whales while supporting Orca Network’s education and advocacy work.
In addition to trivia, the evening includes several ways to give back. One dollar from every beverage sold will go directly to Orca Network, and a 50/50 raffle will be running where one lucky winner will take home half the proceeds.

11:00 - 1:00 - Costume making, face painting and activities at Langley United Methodist Church
1:30 - Stage for parade- Bus Barn Parking at Camano and Cascade (next to Whidbey Island Center for the Arts) NOTE: THIS IS A DIFFERENT LOCATION FROM PREVIOUS YEARS
2:00 - Critter Parade through Langley
2:30 - 3:30 - Waterside Ceremony at Whale Bell/Seawall Park
April 13 - Presentation & Whale Watch
